Todi (Mary Kay Moore) and I were childhood friends from a pretty early age on. I can't remember what grade we were in or what the circumstances were that led us to become such good friends, but we were friends for a long time as children and even into our Jr. High years.

We used to play outside all the time in either the woods by my house or the woods by her house. We loved playing outside and could think of a million and one things to do on a sunny, summer day in our rural neighborhoods.

Todi was an animal lover. I remember how much she loved her black and white dog, Tippy and her big fat rabbit named "Thumper" (original, huh?). Thumper would hop to her when she called him! She also loved to draw and was very good at it; an artisit in her own rights.

Her mother was always very nice to me and would serve Dr. Pepper with dinner, so eating at her house was a real treat, and to this day, Dr. Pepper reminds me of my 'Todi Moore' days and the fun I had with her as we were growing up in Niles!

During High School, we went our separate ways and made new friendships, but Todi and I were always friendly with each other when our paths crossed.

Mary Kay Moore, my girlfriend Todi, was full of life and always had a smile on her face. She was never mean to anybody or anything. She was a free spirit that knew how to laugh and have fun, which drew people to her.

What a tragedy that she was taken away from her friends and her family so soon. I think of my girlfriend often, and find comfort that she's in a good place, surrounded by the people and the animals that she loved. I know someday our paths will again cross in Heaven and I look forward to that day.

I have a pair of brass 5-button jeans with a couple of patches that Mary Kay Moore made for me. Toad designed a beautiful patch that read: Strawberry Hill 4-ever (the Beatles tune was never the same)and a Celtic cross for my other leg. Life's short-ride hard and that's exactly what she did. I feel truly blessed that I made a portion of that trip, with her by my side. Keep the flame burnin' Todi and I'll meet ya on the flip-side;)
