SOUTH BEND – Robert Charles Bessemer, 63, formerly of Niles, Michigan and residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at his home at Karl King Riverbend Tower, South Bend.

Robert was born on January 23, 1956 in Niles, Michigan to the late Fred Bessemer and Katherine (Hand) Bessemer, and has been a lifelong resident of the Michiana area, graduating in 1974 from Niles High School. Robert worked for many years as a Fork Lift Operator at Fapco, Incorporated (Packaging Supply Company) in Buchanan, MI. He also worked in several local grocery stores in the area.

Along with his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother William Bessemer, also of Niles, Michigan. He is survived by several cousins and an aunt.
