Okay my peeps! Nix that sharing band camp idea with the forum! What, in theory, seemed like a safe bloggspot, turned out to be quite traumatizing! I received 4 private emails disclosing a few events that had gone on at band camp AND I must say that I wasn't aware of exactly how much I had missed by not pursuing my musical talent. I went to Interlochen one summer for ballet and we did not have the fun that y'all appeared to have. First of all, I was not aware of how multipurpose many of those instruments could be and secondly I wasn't aware of the different types of flutes there were! ;) Thank you to all that shared their stories with me and it was a wise choice to keep them off the grid. However, do not be surprised if they should happen to show up in a PowerPoint presentation before the reunion;)
As far as bribes are concerned, I accept cash, VISA, bearer bonds, and pull-n-peel licorice!!

Cheryl - We're about 1 and 3/4 hours from Ft. Sill. Actually we head down during the summer months to ride bike at the wildlife preserve that run next to Ft. Sill. Kind of weird riding with a firing range on one side of the road and buffalo right next to you on the other side. One of the riding buddies is deathly afraid the buffalo are going to "charge" us one of these trips. Most of the time we do try to avoid the mommie buffalo - especially if the baby is closer to us than mommie. It is a very nice spot to bike and not worry about auto traffic so we can put in good distances - 35 or more miles, usually.

I was just wondering b/c my daughter did her OBT at Ft. Sill and everyone made fun of the place as in Hicksville but I thought that it was quite charming. She said that there was nothing to do on the weekends so they went into the city but I thought that it was a pretty quaint place.
I def. wouldn't want to mess with Big mama! Actually, I don't think that I would mess with even the baby, for that matter!!

Yeah - you know the military - they try to keep the kids out of trouble but they still manage to find it. The riding buddies son was an MP down at Ft. Sill so we've heard more our fair share of stories...

Besides the entire state of OKLA can sometimes be called Hicksville.

Pat Benjamin's daughter attended University of OK in Norman and she was all excited to meet some hott cowboys but she graduated from there after 4 years and I guess never met one! She told me that just b/c they wore cowboy boots and a hat didn't mean that they were cowboys!! What a crack-up!!

Talk about crack up! Have you ever flown upside down?

OU Sooners- a bunch of lawbreakers. OSU Cowboys - she went to the wrong school. I've heard people go to Norman because its' easier to spell OU than OSU.

Cheryl Frame (Malinowski)

I kind of thought that was why people went to UM b/c they couldn't spell MSU. Is that kind of the same thing?

Two measly points? You would be a thrilling challenge for me Steve M! I always got 10 for landing a good one to the N*** Ha! Ha! Remember...all men in my dojo!

I love the T-Shirt idea...with the VW on it! Man; I need to whip myself up a pair of bell bottoms! Navy blue; just like my favorite pair back then! I still have a picture of me wearing those with a yellow short sleeve tee displaying a peace sign on the front, standing in front of my first car...a yellow Opel Manta (they don't even make those anymore!!!). Long hair parted down the middle, of course!...carrying my guitar!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Sue Ratkay (Jacobs)

Hey Stephanie I asked my husband and he said he would be more than happy to make the computer design for the t-shirt. Along with being a Bass
Player extraordinaire (just a little bragging here) he also does computer graphic design and web pages. Free to you but it is going to cost me!! No worries I will just put on my tab as usual! : )

I believe it was Bruce who had the picture. If he can send it to me as an attachment to my email susan@chuckjacobs.com and you let me know what you want on it I will get it all to him and he can make it up. I can then post it here and see if you like it or want any changes. God I love the electonic age! I remember being excited about transistor radios and panty hose!!

Let me know if you are interested!

Faith, fortunately I have a good back stance and try to keep things like that out of the way!!But if you get lucky; you may get lucky, (HA!HA!)The two points were the two tits- ( if it went over anybodys head) oh yea, if it's Cheryl it's six points(private joke)!

Ya, Sue, Chuck's webb is fantastic, now does he know a printer here in So. Cal or should I start scouring the garment district and my TALA book now? If Chuck does the design we should have it printed here so we (or someone, I can do it for free because I am free right now) can oversee the quality of the t-shirts and print registration, color ect. Whatcha think?
I know all about those "tabs", I once knew a girlfriend,s husband who would let me borrow his Jag if his wife would sleep with him, he was always trying to give me the keys to that car and of course I would accomidate. His wife got tired of me comming around (just kidding, she was a very good friend and co worker)
Fun tru story though.
Talk soon, Kat

Sue and Kat (also known as R.B) tee hee!! I'm glad you are both with me on the tee shirt idea!! Sue that would be great if your hubby would like to do a design, I know how the favors go I think my husband has a list of favors I have promised over the last 33 yrs that I STILL have'nt cashed in!! Hmmmm is that we we women use as a way to get what we want??!! LOL That and whining and bitching. Anyway I have been thinking of some creative ideas for what to add to the fun effect of the VW and I'll get back to you later in the day. Kat, just a thought as I and I am guessing many of us have done over the last 35 yrs have broadened my horizons along with my butt, and various other body parts,( I think I remember my feet) if we could find a place that makes adult size shirts. I don't know about you but for some reason a large size shirt sure does'nt fit like it did in the old days!!! I don't like tight fitting teeshirts, (they suck at trying to hide those middle age fluffy rolls) if you could find a place that carries a large variety of sizes from small (for all you lucky woman who have'nt discovered the joys of eating as a hobby) to 2 or 3 XLarge??!! It would be fun if we could all wear them to the get togethor on friday or to the fun time on sat. That and a challenge to see how many of us have a fun memory of the whole reunion. If we could do this somewhat quickly we could sell them at the fish fry and I would help in sending them to classmates that want them before they come, or those of you that are'nt able to make it here. Steve, what do you think, is this a do-able thing?? I don't know what our funds are but I'm sure we could work out something.

Hey, i would like to give a BIG THANK-YOU To Denise Ranft (Walter). For the kindness and making my family at ease after in the middle of the night 5 years ago i was wheeled into Pawating hosopital with chest pains. After being there for 7 hours Denise helped make arrangement for me to be taken to Borgess in Kzoo. Where they found that I had an Aortic Desection (John Ritter) and it took a 9 hour operation to repair and i was in the ICU for 4 days. When I see Denise I always be sure to tell her thanks for being there when we needed her. I am fine now but i was so close to not being here. This just seem like a good place to let everyone here know much an inpact that you can have on someone.
