Breaker-Breaker! It has been brought to the attention of a few people that some of our fellow classmates have been hesitant to join the forum due to perceived spelling deficiencies.
My first thought was: SERIOUSLY, HAVE YOU BEEN FOLLOWING SOME OF THESE CONVERSATIONS? SPELLING IS THE VERY LEAST OF OUR CONCERN ;) I would like to view it as "creative spelling" coming from the heart versus the mind!
I found a little info that has been scientifically researched and widely accepted in the Land of Academia!
Anyone who has experienced difficulty with spelling words correctly can derive some comfort from knowing that some very good writers have been notoriously bad spellers. It's also comforting to bad spellers to know that this business of spelling seems to have little to do with intelligence. It has more to do with how we remember things. Some people, once they've seen a word spelled correctly, will never misspell that word again. Those are the people who, if you ask them how to spell a word, will first say, "Wait a second let me write it down." Some of the smartest people on earth were also horrendous spellers: Mark Twain, whose spelling was often criticized, once said, "I don't think much of a man that can spell a word only one way!"
Please don't miss out on the fun, and for Pete's sake, or anyone else's for that fact, don't let Mark Twain down;) Let your creative juices flow!
