I met up with Dave Friedrichs the summer before last. He flew over in his light plane, from Carson City, which is just the other side of the Sierras. We had a great time over brunch, shooting the breeze. I can say, he seemed to be having a great time. He had been retired quite a while, having sold his business. He had bought a hotel in Carson City, which he had a staff running, so he was really retired. He had photos of all kinds of toys, as I recall: jet skis, regular skis, motorcycles, ATV's and of course the little hot rod plane. He had a nice home there and a girl friend.

I like to think he was happy in his retirement; he seemed to be. At least he made it to some golden years. We'll miss you, Dave.
