Gessi was simply a GREAT GUY! He was a "nifty" little basketball player and he had a really accomplished tennis game too. Always smiling and with a positive approach to life ... I remember hearing about flipping the dune buggy ... I think he was with Doug Demokas ... and Doug subsequently died just a few years ago near Sacramento in an ultralite plane crash. They were close friends way back in jr high and always loved the adventure!
Mike was a great friend of mine. I taught him about the junkyard business and he taught me how to play basketball although I didn't learn very well. He was a very great athlete and passionate about whatever he set his mind to. I think about him frequently. I'm thankful for all of the times we got to hang out when we were younger and they will forever stay with me.
