William M. Potts, 82 of Burlington, N.C., formerly of Southwest Michigan, died on Sunday, Dec. 28 at Alamance Medical Center in Burlington, N.C.
Potts was born on Nov. 17, 1921 in St. Joseph County. He was a teacher for 43 years in Michigan public schools and was President of the Oak Creek Residents Council, Treasurer of the Lion's Club and the President of the Teacher's Credit Union in Niles.
Survivors include his wife Ruth; 2 daughters- Valerie Padgett of Burlington, N.C., and Delora Metalonis of Erie, PA and 4 grandchildren.

I remember seeing Mr. Potts on a flight from Erie, PA in the late 90's. I didn't know that Lori lived in Erie. I said to him "You look like Mr. Potts from Niles". He got this huge smile and replied "Well, I am!" He It's amazing the people you run into when you don't expect it.
