Okay, kids! I'm back from the motor-city and before doing ANYTHING, I had to check what I missed the past few days. I spent Thursday-Sunday in a Senior's building, took my laptop and go figure, they didn't have WiFi. I asked one of the gentlemen on the second floor about it and he told me that he thought they had some on sale at the 7-11 last Sat. ...whatever that meant! It's great to see some new names on here ;)

Do I call you Shirley or Cheryl? Or Shirley Cheryl or Cheryl Shirley? I don't know?? ... Berry White is black and Shirley Temple Black is white!!..The whole world has gone mad!!

Cheryl Frame (Malinowski)

Hell no! Mary Lynn knows that I detest that name! She is only trying to get me back b/c I accidently locked her in the chicken coop when we were little. I thought that she WANTED to be in there with the feathered babies. My bad!

I'll wear mine if you will wear yours!! And don't call me Shirely!! I get six weeks vacation so when do you want to go?

02/02/09 08:45 AM #217

Suellen Etzcorn (Foster)

Six weeks vacation! Were the hell do you work? Heaven?!

Hey Kris - you can't "admit" to being only 29, not with a 12 year old daughter. You have to move it up to 39 now - or else people will think you hid your pregency really well in high school. And we all know that was impossible!!

Steve - If you have six weeks of vacation to burn you must be a school teacher with detention duty for half of summer vacation.

Jim - Nice poem. We didn't get snow up to the a-- last week but we did have ice that shut Oklahoma down for three days. I don't think any school in the entire state was "in" Tuesday or Wednesday and most of the metro OKC were schools were still out on Thursday.(Of course it was almost 70 degrees on Saturday) OKC talks about how they have 18 trucks to handle snow removal - and two of them flipped the first day - the drivers can't handle the ice.

Steve- I don't really have much vaca until summer and then it will be too hot for leather. I don't like sweaty skin and leather...bad combo!

Sue - Did you mean, "Where in heaven do you work - Hell?

Tom & Kris - that reminded me that I always use to tell my 8th graders that I was 25. It so seriously worked until my oldest daughter came up to Lardner. She was 13 so as quick as they were with math they said, So you were 12 when you had Nicole??? I said, Yes, but you guys had to remember that we didn't have all the birth control education back then and besides, I was pretty mature for a 12 year old!

Jim - I hate to tell you but I read that exact same poem in my mother-in-law's senior center newsletter and I almost placed that in the forum! Thankfully your prematurity saved me the trouble of typing all that out:)

Tom - I completely forgot about Riverfest activities ...always the first weekend of August, right? When I lived in Michigan, I never missed it! We always barbequed along the River on Saturday while watching the float parade; good times then! So, that's cool we have the top floor of the Bar & Grill reserved for Friday night. Brings back memories as well; of course, the place went by another name then. My husband (Jim) and I will be there!

Jim L - so how little sleep do you get? Ever stay up a week straight? That's always a trip...you get pretty delirious toward the end of the week. Drive straight through from Michigan to Florida and back straight through three days later? Sounds like you might be able to handle that! My nickname...'The True Traveler'; I'm well known for needing little sleep :-) Love your Michigan poem - the one you "DID NOT WRITE'. Exactly why I live in Florida!!!

Lynn - Do the age test on Facebook...you will love the results!!! I am only 32!!! Woo hoo!!!

Cheryl - I am photography addict! I will take tons of pics at the reunion and also Friday night at the Bar & Grill. Then, I will upload them to picasa so everyone can download whatever they want. Christmas with my family last year...over 1,000 pics...guess I'm a bit more than and addict! :-)

Kit - Paybacks...everything your kids do to you through those awful years will be nothing compared to what their kids will do to them when they reach those awful years...I'd say they get it about ten fold! That's the payback :-) You watch and grin!

Well Cheryl your right ,I thought we would fly down for a weekend find a nudist camp and just HANG OUT (ha ha)!!

02/03/09 06:52 AM #225

Sandy Barker

Steve - oh we have something to please "everyone" down here! There is a nudist resort not far from here. They were going to host the "lingerie bowl" there (a precursor to the Super Bowl that is just as it sounds - women in helmets and lingerie playing football). Had I known there was an interest I could have tried to get some tickets for you all!

Jim Lanier

Today's topic on Celebrity Battle of the Sexes was submitted by poet/philosopher Jim Lanier of Murphys, CA, in the form of a poem he wrote, entitled, "Typical":

It was a pink, plastic toy chihuahua muzzle,
And if he simply couldn't understand
What it meant to the girl,
(her whole emotional world)
It was because he was a typical man.
Typical man.
He couldn't understand;
He was a typical man.

Analysis: are women sometime too emotionally invested in material posessions? As Don Henley said, "There ain't no hearses with luggage racks!" And are guys uncaring and prone to hurt women's feelings? Are they unwilling to find out what's important to a woman? Too interested in lingerie-clad supermodels? In a word, too shallow?

Here is a reminder: fight fair! Ladies, no weeping! Guys, no closed-fisted punching!

And....

GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!

Jim - you can be so silly! Did you ever stop to think that the pink, plastic toy chihuahua muzzle was probably her diaphragm and she was pissed as hell!
