Didn't Fred or his parents have a restaurant though, right on 31 here in Niles. I thought that I remember going there after it was closed and he had some parties there. ...or did I just make that up?

Nope cheryl you remember correctly. That was his big beginning. The building is still there, at least it was the last time I was in town. It was mostly a little breakfast place and lunches. After hours us Lardner kids would go there for parties. Fred would have guys playing music and most of us did alot of ?????

Whew! I am not losing my mind! I think that was the summer between 9th and 10th grade b/c that is when we started meeting you peeps from Lardner! I thought that we walked over there from Thomas' Stadium.

Right again.....many of the parties started after the games in the summer. I had met Beth Beers through a mutual friend in 8th grade and that's how many of us started hangin together.

Pam, it only LOOKED "seedy" from the outside, and I swear that I NEVER went there with my brother for one of his pool tournaments. Nor did I see ANY long-haired hippie-type guys smoking a "funny-smelling" hand-rolled cigarette in the back room.

And I never once set foot into "The Red Door Club" in downtown South Bend with a "new friend " of mine and ordered my frist beer of the evening and a fight broke out and people were stabbed and the po-po were called and everyone scattered.

AND, I never, EVER went to Darrel Austin's gay bar, "Starz", somewhere on the southwest side of South Bend to see ANY male strippers OR had one of them wag his, um, well, "wee-wee" in my face because he knew I was straight.

That wasn't ME, tee-hee!

Suzi Jasper How young and vulnerable can a person be?!? I know I was for a good many years before "turning wise"! Living down here in a city of 1/4 of a million people has REALLY opened my eyes, and now NOTHING surprises me!! After all, I moved down here from BUCHANAN!!

Suzi, as Dick Cheney says, it's all about plausible deniability! Let's not go on and on about who-killed-who, let's just spin things so that we don't have to answer yes-or-no questions, we can obfuscate by shoveling the old shineola, and probably stay out of jail!
I've always assumed you were pure and innocent as the new-fallen snow (that's funny; I mis-typed, and it came out "new-fallen snot"). Just as all my 1974 classmates are all stalwart, upright citizens who have never been convicted of any felonies (did he say "convicted?" Ok, we're cool) and who are concerned for the welfare of all people, be they black or white, Korean or... well, not all Koreans: not Kim Jung Ill, or his sons Serious Lee Ill and Death Lee Ill.
Anyway, people who, with the exception of Vance, were never directly involved in "extraordinary rendition" or the funding of quasi-governmental, insurgent groups in Central America, funding the operations with drug money.
Anyway, the point is... what was the point? Oh, yeah-- you're not too world-weary and jaded yet! And you may stay that way, since all the newspapers are going bankrupt!

There are plenty of women out there that would help you out for karate style moves without the EXTREME style of that!!!! LOL We need you to be our fearless leader here!!!!!
