Kudos and congrats to the reunion committee, with a special shout out to Wendy R. Comar!! These results (146 mostly drunk alumni & friends terrorizing the Elks Club and greater Niles) are thanks to you!
Offhand, I'd say this website was a good idea!

Ok.. I know this has been discussed previously on the forum, but which hotel has rooms reserved? I just don't want to go back through all the posts.. Thanks anyone..

Not 100% sure, was it the Niles Inn?

Jim, you have an offhand? Do you require a transplant?

The Niles Inn is giving us a discount. Tell them you are with the class of 74.

There's also a nice, new Holiday Inn Express just down the street from the Niles Inn, for those of you who want something you're familar with.

Sorry to offend anyone!

Are there any other fellow classmates of the female gender eating 'Lean Cuisines' this week for breakfast, lunch and dinner?! I ate the Asian Chicken no fat, no carbs, no flavor meal tonight. They keep me full for about 20 minutes so right now, I'm really craving one of those gi-normous burgers from T.G.I. Fridays with a side order of chili-cheese fries (extra salt), and a few house margarita's to wash it all down the shoots... "burb"!

I thought and thought and thought about the diet thing for several months. I have decided that I might just get my nails done instead. It doesn't take as long, I can drink wine during the process, AND I think it will make my fingers look thinner ;)

Good idea! I'll stop at the salon, right after I'm done at Friday's!

I also couldn't quite get into the Lean thing this last few months.....seems to get in the way of my Cocktail Hours. Diet all day and drink all night. Didn't quite lose any calories.
Oh well.....I guess at this point in my life I am what I am!

I have never tried Lean Cuisines, but after trying on my old Jean's I had planned on wearing to the reunion tonight I think I better Stock Up on them for the rest of the week!!!

By "old jeans" I'm assuming you're NOT meaning the ones you wore in high school??! Good Lord... it can't possibly be the norm to think that one can still fit into their jeans from 1974??!! Well, congratulations (and I hate you) girl, if that's the case! I haven't been able to wear my old jeans since... 1974! I was one who didn't fully understand what the "Freshman 15" was. The 24-7 cafeteria food, the hot, donut machine in the morning, all you could eat soft-serve ice cream with sprinkles, ice cold whole milk... oh yea, it wasn't long after I started college that my ass became problematic and to this day, we're still not back to normal!

I'm doing a Goodwill run this week to see if I can squeeze into bellbottoms of some other woman whose ass size got the best of them as well.

I agree with Debbie. I am what I am. If you like it great if you don't that's ok too. Losing a few pounds isn't going to make me a different person. I am Ok with who I am. I just hope you all will too. Can't wait for Friday..

Hey, it's really all about more to love, right?! And at our age, just being upright is a blessing!

NO they are Not Jean's from High School!!! They are a pair I work in around the yard, tried them on in May of this year, they fit fine. So from May thru today they don't fit as well!!! And on second thought I just may go shopping!! I plan on going out to eat this week, and I really don't want to give up my Ice Cream!!!!

07/28/09 01:35 AM #2955

Stephanie Sirovica (Hessey)

I went shopping today looking for something more 70ish to wear this weekend, I decided that clothes that fit my body and don't show all the extra rolls I have aquired over the years have the 70's look of Mamma Cass!!! OMG not a pretty sight, me in a tie died peasant looking dress or blouse!! Thanks Tom for reminding me that there really were some or one Fat woman in the 70's!! After wanting to break out in a Mamma and Pappa's song and thinking how we looked so much alike, I decided to say the heck with it and go to South Bend Chocolate and eat peanut butter fudge and smile all the way to the Dairy Queen and wash it down with a chocolate malt!! I have decided that I might be a little (or alot) as the mirror might say fluffier, but at 52 yrs old I DAMN WELL WORKED HARD TO GET THIS WAY!!!!! So to the rest of you 52 or 53 yr old women from the class of 74, we might have gained a few pounds but we are still the same fun, smiling girls that we were then, and under it all we ARE a size 6, just have a little more padding. I have also decided that if but some terriable thing happened and I got sick and lost alot of weight, that I would have a head start on not having the stress of looking to thin to fast!! I for one am going to be comfortable, even if I am a little chunkier and ready to have the time of my life, and don't care if anyone does'nt like it, cause if you don't too bad!!! I'm still me and ready to have fun and enjoy the company of so many classmates and re-new and build new friendships along the way. Let's all just have fun and enjoy the time we all have together again!!!!!

Amen to all my 52/53 yr old sisters. Fluffier is good!
