The hotel, across from Forler's Bakery, was first the Powell Hotel before it became the Borden Hotel...then it ended up as the Edona Hotel.

Okay...so I had the "Donna" thingy in there somewhere but when you're 11 or 12 years old it's all a crap shoot...at this juncture in life. Thanx to the peeps that made the correct connection and Linda...did you go to the "Wayback machine" for your info? Suh-weet!

Debbie Curtis (Harrington)

Thanks to all for the information.

Mom remembered the Borden House, but Dave said it started with an "E"....so he was close.

Funny how things just go from the mind and then "sorta" come back??

Bonus Question...What was the name of the bar connected to the hotel?!

The "Edona" is correct, it was owned by "Ed and Donna".

Karen McGregor (Bezemek)

HI Sharon -- the photo thingy was just sitting there and asked you to choose. Not sure why it would or wouldn't display for some and not others -- a techy thingy for sure!

SO - sounds like the Tower Hill day is a "GO" - SWEET since I missed it last time.  : )

Just a quick note to let you know I'll be playing a carillon recital in Grand Rapids next Wednesday, at noon... July 14th...

at the Beckering Family Carillon in downtown GR, at GVSU campus...off Lake Michigan Dr/Fulton street area... If you're interested, it's free, outside and will occur rain or shine (unless bad lightning!)...

Or, if you're closer to Detroit area...I'm playing on Thursday, the 15th of July, at St Hugo's Roman Catholic Church--a lovely outdoor setting...the recital there is at 7 p.m.

Please stay and say 'hello' if you come by!

~Sharon
