Ok, lets try this again Saturday morning. Even if it is a little sprinkle and no lightning, please come up to the lake! Tom and i went last Saturday to see if the storm was going to clear up, or if anyone showed up! It really wasn't to bad and did clear up later!  If your undecided come on up anyway you can get there anytime and leave anytime!

Well, it must be hot in all of the US....not much chatting on the Forum! No one is energized; all seem to be enervated (my mother's favorite word!)....

I'm home from playing carillon recitals in Michigan; enjoying time and a new boat at the family cottage on Long Lake--near Traverse City; and another vacation trek to see my in-laws in Colorado (a tough place to visit--ha!)...at least the humidity was low there...and evening temps were cool.

Hope everyone is having some time off to re-charge their batteries...haven't heard from Jim L lately...hope you're okay in them-thar hills....

Stopped in the class of 75 reunion last night! Everyone went to the riverfront cafe! Live band outside lots of dancing! Asked about combining our class reunions sometime in the future, they all liked the idea! Something we might think about! Even class of 73 too! What a great bunch of people! Anyone have any feed back on this?

Steve - I would love to combine our reunion with the class of 73. So many of my brothers friends and we all hung with with so many 73'ers.   Do you know if that class has a website?

Sue-Sue Baird (Conlyn)

I apologize for not making the Sand Sculpting after I said I would be there..

My favorite cousin decided to get married in the middle of July, and I decided to attend..

Is there photographic evidence?

I Think combining reunions is a good idea.. I was close with people in other graduating years.  We are still getting such a big turn out though it may bee too soon to do that.

Take Care Of Yourselves!

Hi everyone-  I received the following email from Diana (Stewart) Curran and her family which I wanted to post to the site:

From 10:43 PM Friday July 30 to Thursday August 5, 2010

We want to thank you for your support during the loss of our son Patrick. The number of friends that stopped over was greatly appreciated and so helpful. Our families were here during this time and we can't tell you how having them here helped us spiritually and emotionally.

We celebrated Patrick's birthday on Monday August 2 and had about one hundred people show up. It was a celebration of his life and we enjoyed visiting with his friends and listen to them tell stories of Patrick. They all went to school together and were a pretty close knit group of kids.

The church was packed for his funeral and the weather was beautiful. The State Police and Berrien County Sheriff each had a marked patrol car present for the funeral procession. Patrick’s friends got a box full of dirt from the Badlands, which is where they rode their four wheelers, and had the dirt placed into Patrick’s grave. A number of his friends stayed behind at the cemetery and watched the dirt being spread into the grave.

Words can not express how much we appreciate what everyone has done for us over the past month.

Please accept this as a huge thank you from Jim, Diana, Jenifer, Brandon, and Kevin.

Sue-Sue, yes it is a little early yet with the big attendance we had last reunion. But in the future when we have less and less attendance and other classes do too, having our reunion with other classes could be an option! (or if sooner we need a Big Big place to hold everyone)! The weather was not in our favor for the beach, and a lot of people could'nt make it for different reasons, so no worry about not making it!

My aunt is involved with her high school reunion group...and they have 'the golden R' [rockford]--

If niles chose to do it, maybe the Golden Vikings?

At any rate, this is reserved for 50th anniversary classes--all 50 yr anniversaries and longer of graduation (say 1960, 1955, 1957, 1948)--all would be invited to the GOLDEN VIKINGS reunion...

Until that time, each classes maintains its individuality...and has their own parties/reunion gatherings...

Just to let you know what other places do... At this point, there are/were so many who attend the last one, it would be great (imnsho) to continue meeting independently as a class until we become so small ... or hit the 50 year mark!

My $.02.

So JL, What was the title of that last book you wrote?

08/31/10 04:34 PM #3557

Jim Lanier

I believe you're referring to "The Last Book You'll Need To Read," which the publishers insisted I change to "The Bizarre Bazaar and Other Tales Which Didn't Necessarily Need to Be Told," which the editor changed to "I Edited This Book, and All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt," which was cancelled under pressure from the ASATJ, the American Society Against T-shirt Jokes.

No, seriously... when did you know me to be serious?? The book ain't out yet, I've been putting together the website which will funnel cyberpeeps into commerciality, according to my marketing person, who will remain penniless. Did I mention my manager, my personal consultant, my personal insultant, my middle man and my Skimmer Off the Topper? They're my new posse! Once they get theirs, ain't no way in infinity I'll get mine!
