Wendy Rehm (Comar)

Good news everyone. We have now reached a milestone of having over 100 active users on the site. Let's work on the next 100 now!

You all miss me? Be nice and say yes Haven't been on the site in FOREVER it seems! Actually, I think it's just been a few weeks, but I was missing you all! It has been a bit crazy around here and I did some traveling...even made it to Niles for a few days. Crazy me!!! The temps were in the teens, Niles was getting a blizzard and our plane barely landed on the snow and ICE! Everyone on the flight cheered after the pilot landed. Quite theatric!!! It was just as crazy the day I flew out to get back to my sunny state.

I noticed when I was in town that the old Ready Theater is being remodeled...I understand it will be a 3-D theater? Is that true? Pretty cool...brings back lots of good memories!

Cheryl - I love the "Spikey-haired dude" from Diners, Dives and Drive-Ins!!! Could never eat like him though...the pig! I'd weight 600 pounds!!! Ever watch him eat?! Oh my!!!

Jim - you continue to crack me up! I've missed your antics these past few weeks!!!

Wendy - Love the musical challenge idea...I'm game to write and perform. I see by the posts it won't be hard to get all of us show-offs together! Really, we have a talented class...might need to censor...ha ha!!!

Sharon - I do not even remember the 1974 senior class wills...sounds so morbid! I'll have to check them out! So, anyway, you've got me wanting to pull out all of my memoribilia...I'll do that this weekend and see what I come up with!

Thanks Cheryl for posting the link to the Young Americans. I enjoyed reading reading about Bill's and his wife's accomplishments. Pretty impressive!

Stephanie - Charley Shields was such a great teacher. How cool is it that you and your brother will be joining him for lunch at his new home. He must be sooooooo old!!!

So many great memories...I am loving this site!

"Hello to everyone!" I took a siesta from the site for a few weeks. My son's home from Iraq for a visit so I had to give him lots of time, love and attention. Also had to pick up the slack at work because my business partner was away for some training. Busy, busy!

Next week is a "working cruise"... a true contradiction of terms! Our company is sending the employees on a cruise to the Virgin Islands for a week for hitting a spectacular sales goal. Some work... some play. The trip was actually booked two, three years ago, before the markets crashed. Rumor has it, our company tried to back out after the financial situation bellied up, but it's going to cost the same money to cancel as it would to do it. We're one of those "Evil Pharmaceutical Companies" so I'm sure it'll be front page news next week in 'USA Today' and the 'New York Slimes'.

Welcome Kathy H! Did I hear you were in the fashion industry? I can so picture that! You were always very fashion saavy in high school, so I'm sure you're very good at what you do! What an exciting career!

Hi Sue R. I haven't clicked on your profile, so don't know you're story yet. The sites really taking off and it's so interesting reading the profiles and seeing what path each followed. I had no idea we had so many smart and talented people in our class!

Kathy K - you are SO on the call list when I get into Chicago! We can meet at the Bistro across from the Water Tower and have martinis and a dozen raw oysters... my favorite Chicago food!

Susan Botts (Flowers--Class Of '75)

Hello Class of 74. Great web site. I graduated in 1975 and remember a lot of you. It is a great place to reconnect. I am interested in creating a site like this for our class of 1975. Wendy was so kind to provide a guest pass for me. I have great fond memories of High School. If you remember me, I was in the 4troop play, the pricilla one. I was in Band and Choir and an active supporter of all sports. Have fun. Sue Botts (Flowers)

Wendy is the GURU, I know alot of people older and a few younger that are so interested in this site, Maybe you could make some $$ from helping them do this same thing for thier graduating year Wendy!? What do you think? You could be the reuniter of the Vikings. Not such a bad gig ya know.
The guest pass thing is a good idea but it opens alot of cyber space doesn't it?
I am feeling our reunion getting bigger and bigger and maybe the best so far! Thanks Wendy, do you need someone to do the choreography and cut the music?, Stage and lighting timing ect?

Hey, for those Angelina Jolie fans, she was filming her new movie "Salt" a spy thriller across the street this morning from the rear of the FTC building. I was about 30 yards from my building this morning and the streets were blocked off by the police. I turned to asked someone on a walkie talkie was there a bomb scare in the FTC building because there were hundreds of people just standing a staring towards the Starbucks across the street from my building...the guy said oh no, we're just filming a movie...when I inquired could he tell me who was in the movie, he just pointed towards the crowd and it was Angelina Jolie but with blondish hair....okay this is probably just of interest to the guys.

So, here's one for the gals...when I worked at US Customs, which later was merged into Department of Homeland Security Tom Cruise filmed Minority Report outside our building it was either in 2001 or 2002...I thought he would be taller.

I bet Katherine has some better stories from her experience with the fashion & entertainment industry. So Katherine inquiring minds want to know. :)

Cheryl Frame (Malinowski)

Cool Vance! Tom is a shortie! My nephew was at Katie & Tom's super bowl party last year. Forget T.C. Angaloonie's tats are hott! I loved her in that last movie - "Wanted" I don't care much for Brad. She should have stayed with Billy Bob.

03/05/09 09:05 PM #393

Vance Allen

You think his wife is taller than him...I bet your nephew had a blast at the party! Couldn't see any tattoos, she had her cloths on..oops to be more clear wherever her tattoos are they were covered by clothing. ; )

03/05/09 09:39 PM #394

Cheryl Frame (Malinowski)

I think she is 5'9" and he is a little under 5'8" which isn't shrimpie, but not huge either. I am not sure if all those tats were 4-real in the movie but they were awesome!

03/05/09 11:34 PM #395

Dick Crocker

No tats for me! I want to be as anonymous and undescript as possible when I pull a D.B. Cooper and start living "off the grid" like JL.

03/06/09 11:03 AM #396

Tom Houseman

Dick - You live in Issaquah, WA. dude - you can't be anymore off the grid than that! I should know - it's not like Yukon, OK is a great response to "Where do you live?"
Didn't DB jump out of the plane somewhere over Washington or Oregon? Now we know why you're up there - you're trying to find his money.

Funny you should ask Vance.......Tom Cruise filmed a spot in Days of Thunder I believe it was, years ago at this little historical gas station at the entrance to our private Black Point Community that I was living in at the time in the North Bay. It was first morning sun rise and his or the production company were great, they layed out huge long tables of breakfast food so we locals could meander down and enjoy ourselves comfortably. It wasn't open to the public per say just us who lived there, about 20 homes, they were very generous. Yes Tom is short but come on guys, any good woman knows it's not about size, (uh, right?) none the less he is a successful man with a succesful life.
OK Cheryl, back off of Angelina, she is MINE! Tattoos and all, mine ok!! LOL, Hoping you all have humor here??
Now, you want to talk back stage hissey fitts and uncomfortable oh shit moments?? I have too many, some funny some scarey.
Ta Ta for now

Brenda Vogel (Visser)

Hi Everyone, sorry I haven't posted in a long time, but I have tried to keep up on the message forum. What with going to the beach, keeping up with my tan, enjoying beach bonfires, going to baseball games, & visiting movie stars in Hollywood & Rodeo Drive with visitors, I just haven't had the time! :-)

I wanted to get back to talking up the Sunday/Monday after the reunion. Many of you have expressed interest in "christening" my lake home in Howard City. Maybe this will be the 1st of many reinactments of durms pond?

HC is a very small community 30 minutes N of Grand Rapids off the 131, about 2 1/2 hours from Niles. A drive after a long night of partying, but hopefully worth it! At 52ish, we can still do it, right? I will have lots of hot & strong coffee ready? The lake is clean & beautiful, we can swim, relax, cook weenies, get a couple of blenders going & hopefully it would be a suitable & memorable end to our 35th reunion! Everyone is welcome to spend the Sunday night & drive home Monday or plan to fly home out of Grand Rapids (Jim & Becky are doing this) which has an big airport. What do you think, is it feasible or too much for us old farts to handle?

Brenda

Kat, I don't think you have to worry about the humor here, just scroll through some of the old postings. Everyone is just having fun and letting their hair down, the ones that still have hair! I'm not directing this comment to anyone in specific because I'll be joining the club really soon or maybe I should join the Hair Club for Men solution instead, ha!

Yeah, I've figured you would have some good stories because of the industry you're in. I recall the "Days of the Thunder" movie, was he married to Nicole Kidman then? My sister use to work for Island Records in LA, and later for some new start-up communications company that didn't launch well and she actually met Tom Cruise in an unusual way. He knew the owner of this company and was given a tour, as he walked by my sisters office he stopped and stared at her "Sponge Bob Collection" memorabilia that is displayed throughout her office. He made a comment from her doorway of disbelief and said something like "Do you really like Sponge Bob" and my sister turned around with her mouth open and tried to say yes and he introduced himself and shook her hand...keep in mind my sister is an adult, but she didn't want to wash her hands for the whole day....I pity anyone that came in contact with her that day.

Yes, please give us some insight on some of those back stage hissy fits and uncomfortable oh !%* moments.

OK Vance, hold on because this one is real time, mine I mean. Remind me to tell you about the time I was overseeing production and based in Hong Kong and had to go into Mainland China to over see production for some major ass hole manufactureres here in the.. o sorry,, the factory, and was arrested trying to get back home to Hong Kong, ya, (thanks boss that ran and hid because he was "Cantoneeeezeeeeeee")I still have 5 pages in Mandarin telling me what I was arrested for! That I signed!! SO I COULD GET OUT! It might have or could have said "I killed the guards Mother and now I am doomed to a prison in China" No joke, really, I have them framed because I am one lucky lady! You can place your betts on me.
Anything else ya wanna know about my glamor ass carreer?

Katherine Holloway

Sponge Bob? Wasnt he way way after our kids? I mean I learned about his square pants from my Grand Baby. He wears tidey whites but they are square because he is a sponge and when he gets sick he spwhews bubbles because he lives under the water, I can tell ya everything because My Brohters beloved youngest son. when he first met me said I look like Patrick because of my NOSE. Me thinks I am just to old now???????? Nothing really changes from high school does it?

Kat, my ears are open tell away! Oh, has anyone ever told you that you looked like a young Meryl Streep, the photo caption entitled, "On set location with one of the principals, Edward James Olmos"

Yeah, my sister is a kid at heart!

Hi Vance, Ya, I get that Meryle SheepShit, oh, sorry, humor, yes, I have gotten that over the years and with the high forhead and every man trying to find out what nationality I am or was! I get Shalome alot, and "those eyes are not from here", (I worked with India alot in production). I take it all as a compliment. I learn alot from others comments, then look in the mirror and say "WHAT THE HELL?" LOL, guess you have to figure my nationality before you can get my humor.
Thanks for the interest. this is so much fun!

Jim Lanier

Uhhhhhh, huhhhhhhhh, huhhhhhhhhh, Brenda said, "do it!"
-Bevis
Hey, I was thinking, let's take everybody out of their comfort zones, whaddaya think, kids? Namely, here we are on this modern website, in this anonymous computer age, but I find myself mostly chatting with the folks I knew in high school. Nothing against my friends, of coures, but I find, I didn't know everyone. Well, I'm all about shaking things up-- that's why I'm in California! So we could possibly hang out online with folks we didn't hang out with in school, is that such a bad thing?
For instance, Vance and Kat (may I call you Kat?): hello! I'm Jim. I'd like to invite you and everyone else over to the vitual party over at my profile. I try to be inclusive, instead of exclusive.
I promise no viagra ads will "pop up" (so to speak) over there. It may not be your cup o' tea, no biggie. But we might just have some fun and pre-introduce ourselves to some folks prior to the reunion.
And here's a special offer to all the folks who hated Jim Lanier in h.s.: get over it! Life's short & getting shorter!

03/07/09 09:50 AM #406

Bryon Lietzke

Jim who possibly could have hated you in school? Let me know and I’ll take care it. Or i'll have Stevie (AKA street name - poodlehead) do it since he is still in shape.

Vance Allen

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the invite, I'll wonder on over today. Actually, I've been sorta doing what you've suggested and been introducing myself to as many classmates as possible, especially the ones I hadn't had the opportunity to meet in High School or perhaps didn't know very well...I met Kat online for the first time this week, she's a great person! I just joined the forum this week, guess I didn't have a lot to interject because I really don't have all those memories from high school that classmates were discussing. I've become a lot more outgoing since high school. I guess the military turned me into an extrovert because I had to make friends to survive after leaving family & friends back in Michigan, in my younger years the Air Force became my extended family...hope that makes sense.

See you at your virtual party!

Regards,
Vance
