Don't get me started on music! I still sometimes play "Heart of Gold" (Neil Young) in my act, as well as "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd, which has followed me around in my life, turning up in the most unusual situations. I first heard "Don't You Eat That Yellow Snow" (Frank Zappa) while skipping school to fly up to Western with John Hesser...

I remember very fondly listening to Doobie Brothers - China Grove - and jamming all the way to the beach with Meg, Wendy, and our 'beaus'. Seems it was the infamous senior skip day, though my memory could be wrong.

ANA-GODDA-DEVITA (the long version). Don't know when but I had it in my Jeep. Have it as my cell phone ring tone along with, "whooooo are you, who, who, who, who." My nephew says "oh CSI"

Seems like the cross country team always "ran" to Grand Funk Railroads' "We're an American Band" - I remember Randy Toler could do a fairly good air guitar to that - and Coach Kelly always tried to get him to calm down.

Good selection. I loose track of when songs were introduced because I listen to oldies stations along with other formats. So after listening to them for umm, lets just say a while, they are like an old friend that has been with you for as long as you can remember. Don't always know exactly when you met them but they have been there.

OMG... forget the songs and Steve Merica turning into a d--k and strolling around downtown Niles! Did anyone else read Barker's scenarios?! That was a roit! I haven't had a belly laugh like that in awhile! My, how things have changed from 74 to 08. How sad for our kids, and their generation, that life has become so complex and complicated. The 70's were definately a hard decade to beat, after Vietnam, of course. Thanks Sandy for blogging that and pointing out the obvious that one can miss when one is caught up in the minutiae of the day, which lead into weeks, months and years of not noticing just how much things really have changed! Now... back to the songs and Steve Merica, ie Mr. D--k.
