I hate to get off that;) BUT I will. Sandy's little blog there hit the nail on the head. I deal with stuff exactly like that in the classroom everyday!

I worked in the hospital where they brought some of the "Columbine kids" out in Denver. Talk about a "sick society"... Some days it's hard to fathom...BUT...we can all get through it- follow "Cleopatra" - Queen of "denial"..... (if anyone needs an explanation...there are a lot of teachers on here... they can help.. my 1st degree was in p.e. - everyone knows what that means!)

No not everyone gets it! What is pe? Not Physical education, right? Is it like pc (parentally challenged) AND if you guys remember correctly, I was really bashful in school!

It's your story tell it the way you want!!

yes - it's physical education... It's like Woody Allen said: "Those who can't "do" - teach and those who can't "teach" - teach p.e.!!!! (He was a dumb basta**...)

With all the bikers in the group and some really nice looking bikes, I'd be interested in some feedback about the upkeep to keep them looking good. Is polishing and shining as much a part of the hobby as riding? Also wondering about the vibration. Had a small bike a few years ago that vibrated my hands numb. Thanks for any comments.

Cheryl Frame (Malinowski)

Sorry Will, someone will be able to comment but not me. The only thing that I have heard comments about are that Harley D's vibrate quite a bit and they used to be hard to take care of yourself, but that may not be the case anymore. Peters should know!

Some of us were talking about prom and I have a probing question for everyone/anyone! There was a bunch of kids over the years that always went up to Warren Dunes after prom to watch the sun rise, or so I was told. I asked my dad quite a few times and of course he said no. He told me that he would wake me up at 4:30 am and drive me up to the lake. He never said a word until years later. I reminded him that he never would let me go and he replied, "Cheryl, are you not thinking correctly, or just not thinking at all?" He then told me that you would NEVER see the sun rise on the lake from our side, we only see the sun set. Well, no sh!$ Sherlock, then I got it, but why didn't anyone ever correct me on that one? Did other people think that we could see a sun rise? OR Was that kind of like snipe hunting or whatever that was?...just wondering!

Steve Merica

Like anyone cared about the sun!!!

01/13/09 08:29 PM #45

Cheryl Frame (Malinowski)

Well, I kind of figured that but that's what everyone was saying so I just went along with it! ...and I am a science teacher? Maybe you should rethink your son's placement ;) Just to make you feel better, I DO GET IT NOW, but I thought it was funny that my dad let me go all those years, thinking that I was going to see the sun!

As long as you know the sun rises in the east and sets in the west your good to go!!

01/13/09 08:59 PM #47

Cheryl Frame (Malinowski)

Hey, I'm good dude, but doesn't it matter which way you are facing? Cuz, don't the east and west switch sides on you?

Steve Merica

Not in my neighborhood!!!

These posts are a riot!!! Great way to finish off my late evening...I'm cracking up! By the way...love the website! I've done more chatting with classmates in the past week than I have done in the past 35 year...OMG! HAS IT REALLY BEEN THAT LONG?! Can't wait to see everyone in August!

01/14/09 12:34 AM #50

Karen McGregor (Bezemek)

DITTO to that Faith! It's like no time has passed at all. Personally, I'm trying to catch up on all that I missed out on!! Never did Durm's, never did Tower Hill (did prom 4 yrs but obviously with the wrong guy or group!) Always have said I wouldn't want to go back to HS years but reading all this, might not be so bad...now that we know what we now know and what we (Cheryl) didn't know then!! Love it!

Good thing you chose science and not "geography" Cher!

That's what I'm thinkin'!

Next time when someone asks about the sunrise over the lake, tell them it was cloudy that morning!!

01/15/09 12:19 AM #54

Suellen Etzcorn (Foster)

Now that you mention it, I think my kids used to tell me they went to the Dunes after Prom to watch the sun "rise"... those damn ankle biters lied! Oh well, no illegitimate grandkids were produced that I know of. Thank you Jesus!

I thought the only reason to go to the lake was watch the submarine races. go figure

01/15/09 11:25 AM #56

Cheryl Frame (Malinowski)

Okay Tom, that I knew was fake! Submarines don't go that fast to race!

Hi - I just wanted to let all of you know, that my mom was sitting outside reading in a lounge chair in my back yard, and had to come back in the house because she was getting sun burned! Take that!

Remind me, why am I moving back to MI?
