So, JL, do chicken wings taste like buffalo? This confuses me. Would they be hybrid? Chickalo, or buffalen? Doesn't matter...they all taste great with mass quantities of Frank's Hot Sauce. And maybe a beer. Maybe.

Thanks Sharon your message was great to read!

Even though I do not get a chance to write a lot here I do read most of it and I can say that I have never had such a good time!! I find myself continuously laughing out loud. I have even taken to reading my favorite author - JL with SM and TCB running right in there, to my husband and now have him laughing along!!

I wonder if anyone knows whereabouts of Loli Flood? Is the family still in Niles? Maybe a sibling is still around to contact? Thanks.

Sharon,

It's like we all have to "purge" our souls to our fellow classmates. There is something very comforting in those that we grew up with, whether we were close in high school or not. We're a 'family' of sorts.

We had a class reunion meeting last night, and it was another "no-holds-barred" get-together, or TMI in some cases, but as expected, very fun! We don't get much accomplished, but we sure laugh a lot! The most endearing thing about being part of the class reunion committee is the sharing of our personal selves, accomplishments and failures, that make the meetings so fun! I look forward to each and every meeting I can get to, so that I can spend more time learning about my fellow classmates!

We've all reached the age of passage into an era where we're just not as guarded or naive' as we once were in high school and can easily laugh at our failures and misconceptions! It's like meeting "new" friends all over again! Isn't life delicious?!

I put some pictures up on my page of the Riverfront Cafe so you can see how friendly and pretty the girls are there.

Tom, just how friendly r they ???

04/18/09 04:42 PM #1314

Jim Lanier

Hey Tom, who's that cutie you're holding hands with at the Riverfront?!? Said, Lawsamercy!! Hot, hot hot!!!

You guys on the reunion committee are the best! I know we haven't thanked Wendy enough for this cyberheaven, but I want to thank all the rest of you, for thinking up Wendy! (And also for doing all the fundraising, which you'll share with me when I come back?!??!) It's like having someone keeping the home fires burning, there in Niles. You're right, Suellen, it's like family. I've seen a lot of places, and I've met a lot of people, but I feel a very deep heart-connect with you folks.
So thanks to all of you, from what I've seen in pics, that includes Karen, Steve, Wendy, Lynn, TCB and Sue, and I'm probably leaving someone out? I'll try to thank you all personally, for rousting me out of my life-lethargy when I'm back HOME.

And you're right, Sharon. I think age has deepened our understanding of this life thang, maybe at least allowed us to be more grateful, I know I am!

Suzi, does Frank make a hot beer? That would save wear and tear on the old elbow...

Wendy Rehm (Comar)

Hi all---I activated a new link off the left navigation bar called Missing Classmates. There you will see a list of all our comrades that we don't have an address or email for. Take a look and let me know if you have contact information for any of these folks.

I'll get a letter off to Ed Holmes---thanks Steve!

Keep up the good work. Wendy

Wendy, Kudos to you and all of the work that you have put into this website. It has been a great way to reconnect with people and get to know people that you really didn't know. Thanks so much!!

It is a mint mojito...rum with a splash of sprite, some mint leaves, and limes...pretty good and potent! Had one there and one to go...

Vance Allen

Hi all, I've missed everyone! I need to catch-up on the forum activities, I did manage to take a couple of peaks over the last two weeks but was afraid to dive in while on travel. Spring is finally here in the DC Metro area, I hope Southwestern Michigan is undergoing a quick thaw from winter. I'll see everyone this week in cyber-space. :)

Glad to have you back! you have been missed!

Looking good, Linda!

Oh, and I've been told who's doing all the work, well, all the heavy lifting, well, some of the heavy lifting, well, anyway, my old friend Mike Peters, thank you! I didn't mean to emphasize the "old" part, really. You look pretty good for your age, I mean it must've taken a long time to get that old and everything! Nyuck, nyuck, nyuck!

Welcome back Vance.

Linda if I drank one of those, I don't believe that I could walk!

Suzi, Only one beer with the Buffalo Wings and Franks? maybe two?

04/19/09 06:09 PM #1327

Linda Behm

Pam, I could walk down the street however I don't know how straight. I do know that I almost did something to an older man to get him moving but my daughter stopped me just in time...I then threw the other one away! lol J

Suellen Etzcorn (Foster)

Dang... Linda! That's what I call a "Big Girl" drink! I had a big-un like that in San Juan a few weeks ago. "OOO-WEE" was what I was saying after two! Contrary to what men think... size DOES matter to us girls!

Debbie Curtis (Harrington)

I can hook you up Wendy, with Theresa Boller's and Mindy Burge's address's this next week. Just need to make sure they have no issues with me giving out their info??

Welcome back Vance.....love your messages!!

Can't remember who said it, (memory goes lately??), but How True....Old Class mates, no matter how long ago, Grade School, Jr High, High School......FAMILY!! Never really felt this way about anything in.....oh 35 YEARS!! And ya, who da thunk, we'd be the group so in tune with our kids and grandkids.

Love the site....thanks again, WENDY.

Gotta write later, just got over a weekend with my (4) grandsons.....love em to death, but oh how glad Dale and I are when they go home!! Having a drink and chillin' on a late Sunday afternoon, evening before the 9-5 starts for tomorrow.

Hey.....the Niles Inn?? Stayed there once a few years back. Is it better?? Trying to decide where to stay in August. Holiday Inn Express or Niles INN??

04/19/09 07:52 PM #1330

Suellen Etzcorn (Foster)

Debbie,

If price isn't a factor, by all means... do the Holiday Inn Express! Niles Inn is cheaper, but ya get what ya pay for... My mama always taught me, there are some things you just can't scrimp on - toilet paper, white bread, booze and hotels are a few of those things!

04/19/09 08:12 PM #1331

Debbie Curtis (Harrington)

Suellen, thanks, just makin' sure I wasn't treading on anyones "lively hood"?? Made reservations at the Holiday Inn Express already for a (mini-suite??/Kitchen-ette??) not sure what that means there either, but Mom and I have stayed in their normal rooms a night or two over the last couple years, and it was okay. Can cancel my reservations up to 48 hrs to check-in.

04/19/09 08:46 PM #1332

Pam Wery (Payne )

Debbie good call on the Holiday Inn.
Much better place. Not sure but they may even give you a dicsount for the Reunion. Cant hurt to ask?
And WHO ever said it: Maybe in school we were not all that close and not so outgoing but time has made one thing very clear.....Hold on to friends and family, and the Class of '74 have grown into one Great family.
