I've tried my best to catch-up on the forum postings for the past two weeks...I've definitely missed out on some good opportunities to interject and ping a few folks! :) It's all about having fun and making new/stronger friendships...I can truly say this forum has been a positive experience for me. And to all that recognized my absence thanks...because I missed you all as well! ;)

Yikes there's a ton of reading to catch up on here! I love what Sue E.F. said: "There is something very comforting in those that we grew up with, whether we were close in high school or not. We're a 'family' of sorts." I absolutely felt that way from the last reunion I attended - must have been 12 years ago. Just really happy to see that it hasn't changed with y'all and there are many who share both that feeling and so many others e.g. high school shyness, cliques (sp?), that stuff just doesn't matter anymore, etc. Okay; just had to comment since I lost my voice earlier today, and writing is the only way I can communicate right now!

Stay tuned for Cliques Part Deux! My students are going to define the categories tomorrow morning for me to share with everyone on the site. They think that we are totally clueless! I was trying to tell the kids that the names may have changed a bit, but the delineation among groups was still alive and well back in the '70's!!
Actually, I think that's why I was sent back to Junior High so I could do it all over again and do it right! The kids asked me what group I belonged to and I had to tell them that I marched to a "different drum" and basically I may have been in a different parade. I told them, that for much of the time, I was a legend in my own mind!!

Wendy -- and all of you--

I'm so glad to hear that this site will continue for days/years to come!

What a hoot....

Gee...and now that we've all passed 50...let's see what we have to look forward to...in the next decade! :)

Cheryl, you can rewrite it however you want! I guess you didn't want to tell your students you were in the party-til-you-puke/any-drug-that's-not-legal/promiscuous-as-hell clique!!!
Disclaimer: this was a joke, people, Cheryl is none of the above. No, really! Anyway, I wouldn't want to tell my students that, and it's all true for me! Except the promiscuous part. Not that I didn't try, darn it! And really, I didn't puke. That much. Until graduation. Out at the golf course. Sitting in my Pinto. I had on an eight track of a Yes album. Kept coming in and out of consciousness. Still can't listen to that album, it makes me sick!!!

Looking over the past few pages of the forum, I had a great time reading about the Senior Prank- obviously the best of all time. Now that we're all over 50, has anybody put any time into thinking up our seniors prank? Or does that have to wait until our 45th reunion, when we're all over 60???

KHC - Math wasn't your strong point @ NHS was it? Reunion "about 12 years ago"? If we have them every five (5) years shouldn't that be 10 or 15 years ago? You know - multiples of 5. Sorry - just have to jump in on that!

OK... I'm getting a visual of us all, later in life, starting to moving into 'Assisted Living' with high speed internet access so we can stay connected to our peeps at www.nileshigh1974.org! Everyone else will be playing Bingo in the dinning room, with a bowl of orange jello sitting in front of them, but not us! We're the class of 74! We'll be in the hallway, strapped into our wheelchairs, close to an electrical plug, online and downloading pictures, while frantically typing to keep up with the 'message forum'. Loud chuckles will be heard all the way to the dinning room followed by comments like, "I'll get Bonner back good for his last post!"

And T.H., have you ever seen the commercials on TV that sing, "gotta-go-gotta-go, gotta-go-gotta-go". Well, the actresses in the commercial look like their of the age as those who would have graduated in 1974! I, myself, on more than one occassion, would have LOVED to have had a Depends on! I know... TMI, but what's family for if you can't share your 'out-of-control-pissing-problems' with the ones you love!

SEF - Yes, I've seen those commercials. The only thing I remember from them is the guys are playing golf in one and in another one of them they drive a Mustang convertible. I can't even tell you what "product" they're advertising...
