I always look in my wallet the next day to see if I had a good time the night before!!

Susan Botts (Flowers--Class Of '75)

Steve - I had to jump in and tell you thanks for the big laugh outloud when I read how you look in your wallet to see if you had a good time.

Steve Merica

Susan, why did'nt you go to the Nugget after the fish fry?

05/10/09 10:52 PM #1937

Stephanie Sirovica (Hessey)

Don- You should have remembered "cutting the rug" at the nugget the next day when your toes were black and blue from me stepping on them!! Oh well I am glad we got to cut the rug sure alot better than if you were cutting the cheese!! Sorry could'nt resist that one. Steve-checking your wallet the next day is a good idea, much easier than checking it 9 mts later to show off photo's of the newest Merica to the family!!!!! God I am getting warped in my old age and a long day. Good Night all!!

I am remembering 9/11 for some reason, just wanted to share that it does not really matter if you are left right, demo, gop, black white purple or green, we are all americans that must bond together and show and proclaim our love and respect of the USA as we did the day of September 11, 2001. God bless America.

How beautiful this song will always be just like our USA

On vacation today.....my brother is here from Florida for a visit on Mother's Day. Hey, my Mom is 86 and single. Love's to dance....ha, ha, ha.

Sue-Sue, I am so sorry to hear about Tower Hill. Now, I'm not sure I even want to see it. Maybe just keep my memories of what it "used" to be?? Sounds like Friday during the day may be a good time to go tho?

Cheryl, forgot the laws in State-Parks go awhole lot stricker. I'm so used to being on Private Property, never really sinks in that I can't just walk anywhere and carry my Plastic Glass of wine, darn-it!

Steve, sorry for the "No-duh" the other night....read it again later and though I was kinda rude. Had been "Drinkin" and got alittle to cocky!

Thanks to you all that talk and post messages all the time. I do get in to read, laugh and remember most everyday. Just don't feel like typing and thinking after most of my days.

Well, suns up and it's finally 50 degrees.....yee ha!! Time to get outside....is summer ever gonna get here this year??!!

I think Friday is sounding like the day for a gathering at the dunes... although I do think an after party trip to the dunes would be awsome.... again, anyone got an rv?
We have one, but not going to drive it to MI at 8mpg.
It's more like a guest room right now... (i might be a redneck)

Hi all---I'm breaking in here to tell you that I have added a class reunion countdown clock to the home page along with local Niles weather, active classmate statistics (very bottom) and a donate function for anyone who generally wants to donate money to future class activities. Up soon will be t-shirts, tank tops, and reunion tickets! Hope everyone is well. Wendy

For out-of-towner- Peeps! We had a little sad news for our poor little town. Tyler Refrigeration will be closing its doors. On Friday, about 40 people were told that they wouldn't be returning to work today and the remaining 450 people will be released, staggered for the next three months. Although scaled down, the company was still a large part of revenue for the community. BIG BUMMER!

Don Nugent

Peeps ???? I thought those were something that we got at easter...
That is bad news. I drove by there the other day, when I was in town fer the fish fry, in search of hot chicks in bathing suits. All I found was BJ Pub and what used to be Frankies. There were alot of people I used to know that worked there...alot of old neighbors. Didn't Rick Yosts dad work there, too

My dad worked there his whole life until he retired in the later 70's. That is really a shame. I still look up under some of the refrigerated cases in grocery stores and see the Tyler sticker. My mother is still receiving his benefits and I hope nothing changes with that. Oh boy, another one bites the dust.....

Pam Wery (Payne )

My Dad also worked at Tyler's for over 35 years. He retired when Justin was born, over 25 years ago. A lot of people are going to miss Tyler's and the cases they built for grocrey stores. It's hard to go into any store and not find a Tyler case.

Pam,,
I'll bet our fathers knew each other in those years. I just phoned my mom in FL to let her know the news. She is very surprised that they are closing but with the economy these days it does not surprise me.

Linda Behm

do (did) any of our classmates work there?

05/11/09 09:19 PM #1950

Steve Merica

I think so! Don't know who yet!

05/11/09 09:51 PM #1951

Eric Behm

Bill Hilligoss works there

Mike Wheeler (Teacher's Son-Class Of '73)

Too bad many of the decisions made by corporate in the past few years really hurt Tyler...the mexico facility was a big part as well as other decisions. It's just sad to see companies close because of poor management then blame the economy

05/11/09 10:00 PM #1953

Linda Behm

True...as we can see especially in Elkhart county with the RV industry

05/11/09 10:17 PM #1954

Debbie Curtis (Harrington)

My Mom too retired from Tylers. We were talking about it earlier today. She's worried about her benifits?? Seems to be the last of the big companies of the Old days, bits the dust.

SM....drinkin' alittle of everything Saturday...Margaritta's, Corona's...Tequila....Happy Cinco Demyo Week!!

Sue-Sue....don't have an RV. I'll check with Beth and Thersa....see if anyone down there has one.

05/11/09 10:25 PM #1955

Beverly Finney (Geist)

Hey if we get to tour the school, could someone pull some strings to let us in the auditorium this time. I really want to stand on that stage one more time. Plus I want my husband to see how awesome our facilities were. I hope they are as cool as I remember..

05/11/09 10:27 PM #1956

Steve Merica

Bev, we will get you on that stage!!

05/12/09 11:26 AM #1957

Sue-Sue Baird (Conlyn)

If you get to take the stage, I'd like to hear the fight song...
