Sharon Simons (Hettinger)

Well, I was reading the prior page of postings...and then realized the conversation was 'way beyond where I was! So, I removed my post! :)

BTW, I have just posted JUDY HENSLER's creative work from fourth grade--it was in the Eastside Elementary's newsletter to parents--on my profile page.

Others who made that edition were Bob Haslett: POOR INDIA
Carl Weems: MY THOUGHTS ABOUT INDIA
Sue Ann Burger and Marie Leidy: MYRS. STYERS TOLD ABOUT INDIA
Sharon Simons: Sharon the Crater
Mark Coons: Crater ---MARK, where are YOU??!?!?!
Judy Hensler: MOON DUST

We must've been thinking about the moon...and NASA... who would've thought a few years later we'd actually have folks walking on the moon?

I used to think that perhaps WE were someone's experiment in a test-tube...?!! :) :)

Is Gina Davis still in Niles?
Mark Coons?
Where are all of these folks??

I *KNOW* that there are a lot who are still living in Niles, just from reading First Presbyterian Church's bulletin that I continue to read weekly!

So...come on, folks--if you're just reading and NOT filling out your profile page, take the leap and join us!

Sharon, what was in your chocolate milk at Eastside?

Steve Merica

You could'nt get me in a test tube!

Sharon Simons (Hettinger)

DC--I'll never tell.

SM--It could be a huge beyond-this-galaxy kind of test-tube!

Sharon, I hope I don't have a nightmare tonight!

05/16/09 09:11 PM #2114

Dick Crocker

Sharon-did you bring enough for the whole class? Hmmm?

Remember, LSD wasn't illegal in those days. Maybe you got it at the Eastside store? Heck, they seemed to have just about everything there.

It was on the counter in between the Pixie Stix and the two-for-a-penny pretzel rods!

05/16/09 09:20 PM #2117

Linda Behm

maybe it was in the Pixie stix!

Right above the wax lips and sweet tarts!

I think we had a couple of those stores down at Cherry Street School or were those houses?

05/16/09 09:22 PM #2120

Sharon Simons (Hettinger)

Oh, I think Dick is right---it was likely in the chocolate milk (from the machine just outside of Miss Funk's classroom).

Share and share alike.

05/16/09 09:22 PM #2121

Dick Crocker

Linda, you're right! It was the strawberry Pixie Stix!

05/16/09 09:23 PM #2122

Dick Crocker

"Strawberry Pixie Stix Forever"! The Beatles covered it.

05/16/09 09:25 PM #2123

Linda Behm

i thought it was Strawberry Fields Forever that the Beatles had covered

05/16/09 09:27 PM #2124

Dick Crocker

It was. They had to speak in "code" or it would have blown the whole thing wide open.

05/16/09 09:28 PM #2125

Linda Behm

"sorry chief" as Maxwell Smart would say!

05/16/09 09:28 PM #2126

Sharon Simons (Hettinger)

Or.......Puff the Magic Dragon...and we thought that was an innocent song!

05/16/09 09:31 PM #2127

Dick Crocker

Regretably, strawberry Pixie stix have gone the way of Chicklets...you can only get them in a dark alley in Tiajuana(SP?) from a guy named "Julio".

05/16/09 09:33 PM #2128

Sharon Simons (Hettinger)

Really? No more Chicklets either??

05/16/09 09:35 PM #2129

Dick Crocker

That song (Puff)was popular on the Captain Kangaroo show. I always thought the Captain was too mellow. The rabbit kept playing tricks on him and he wouldn't get angry, the Captain could hear the dancing bear speak when I couldn't hear him say a damn thing, and what was up with Mr. Green Jeans? Hemp clothing?

Sharon Simons (Hettinger)

I think it's time for Jim Lanier to write us a song...no more chicklets, no more pixie stix...

05/16/09 09:40 PM #2131

Linda Behm

Where is Jim anyway?? miss him on here... Jim...please come back!
