What are your favorite memories of NHS?

French Food Fridays in Mrs. Gugliotta's class.
Hours and hours painting banners for Spirit Club.
Spending lunch time in the Tattler office with fellow staffers and other friends who dropped by (wasn't it great having a private bathroom?)
Ushers' Club -- especially the trip to NYC.
Mr. Weiser's chemistry class (remember how he'd hand out candy bars for correct answers during pop quizzes?)
Junior class glass recycling project in that vacant lot across from Eastgate Shopping Center. It was so cold in the winter!

High points of your life since high school?

Staying close to my MSU roommates after all these years.
Living in three states other than Michigan and the great friendships that resulted.
Many years of participating in community theatre.
Celebrating my parents' 60th wedding anniversary.
Finally visiting France and still remembering a lot of the language -- thanks, Mrs. G!

How often do you get back to Niles, MI?

Once every 3 or 4 years.

Do you still see/talk to/hang out with any classmates? Who?

Soozi Jasper, Lyn Powers Stegemiller, Meg O'Mara Steinberger, Jim Lanier, Jodie Haines Stackowiak, Pennie Burdue Bailey, Bruce Gescheidle. Some only through Facebook, but it's still nice to keep in touch.

Did you have any nicknames in school? If so, what were they?

El Reed.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Kill dandelions in a vain attempt to create a decent lawn.

Tom might very well have been the bravest among us at Westside School.  Rumor had it that he let the air out of all the tires on a certain "mean" teacher's car!  Rest in Peace, Tom, and condolences to your family.
