four years in the army, then off to college met wife, can't rush any thing 8 yr engagment, after college went to work at Leco in St Joe MI did computer aided design, in 88 ask my father inlaw if I could come and work full time on the farm. Thats how I became a farmer. In 89 he passed away.In 91 bought the farm now we can loss our own money. We own a peach series, which we own 10 patented varieties, and 4 pending. The most important, sueing Berrien County over a illegal shotting range and went to state supreme court and winning!

thats winter, fix what we broke in the summer, go to comventions to promote steller peach series, we spend two to four weeks in the caribbien, we scuba dive, can't dive here, we are spoiled.

We own four businesses all related: Fruit Acres Farms, this is the wholesale side, we raise lots of good stuff, main crop of course peaches, then sweet and sour cherries, apples, nectarines, japanese and european plums, and apricots.Then the retail side Fruit Acres Farm Market, located right at Exit 39 on I-94 east bound exit into my parking lot. market is open 7 days a weak till end of Oct. Four years ago we opened the farm to U-pickers, only on weekends, we give you a hay rides to the orchard, we have a picnic area, playgound equipment.Then the fun one, breeding program, Stellar peaches has 11 varieties, 4 pending, series know as star peaches they star in it"s name like Blushing Star, Rising Star.
