Good luck with your shows, Sharon!

Hey, can anyone help me out here? I'm bringing my wife Becky back to MI sometime in September/October for her 50th (don't tell her!) birthday, and I'd like to take her to a Michigan home game. I didn't know you have to re-enroll to get tickets!! Does anyone have a line on Michigan home games in that time frame?

As a distant second choice, the MSU/UM game in Lansing might work (Cheryl??)

Thanks in advance! I'll post the Niles dates of this tour once we've figured out the details.

Party on, Wayne!

Thank you Tom and Steve for organizing the Class Beach Party!  I had so much fun hanging out with Tom, Diane, Sue, Karen, Betsy, Paul, and Steve at the lake Saturday.  Later that evening Steve and I were watching the bands at Riverfest and ran into Karen and Jeanie (Percy), so we got to catch up some with Jeanie as well.  The weather turned out GREAT, the food was FABULOUS, the time we had together was INCREDIBLE!  What a great weekend!!!  Uploading photos to Photobucket...will include the link to the album here when the upload completes.

Hi everyone---so sorry to have missed the fun at the beach last weekend----I know you had fun.  Anyway, I have added 2 new photo galleries to the site 1)  Reunion gallery and 2)  High School gallery.  They are both located on the left navigation bar and when you click on them, you will see links to specific class reunions or to Junior High or High School memories.  You can then upload photos of the events or times to their respective galleries and everyone can see them.   You don't have to post them to your individual profile anymore---just put them in the shared galleries.  So let's try this out and see if it works.  Can someone upload some pictures for me and let me know if they have any issues?

BTW---I'm still working on the music additions---takes time!  More to come.  I hope you are having a wonderful summer.

Uploaded the photos from the Beach Party...then, I saw Wendy's post about the new album areas...so, I will post them there as well.   Either place you choose to look, enjoy!  And, if you couldn't join us this time...we hope you can join us next time!

Wendy - Where should we post photos from the Beach Party?  The High School Gallary has two albums:  Jr High Pics and Sr High Pics.   The Reunion Gallary has albums for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 year reunions.  I am able to upload photos to the existing albums, but cannot creat new albums.  Let me know where to post and I will get them out there.  Thanks!!!

Hey more national publicity for Niles, they are making a movie about Tommy James, and also Broadway play; same movie producer as Goodfellas.  It will be interesting to see who will play the teachers at Niles high School.  Saw Niles also leader in US for community gardens.  Good stuff.

Randy...where are you getting your information? If what you say is fact, I wonder how much of the film will be based in Niles as Tommy was all over the place following his Niles gig. Regardless, it'll bring some money into the local economy, and that's a good thing! I'm sure if there are any local cameos our class can provide a helping hand...Tom, Steve et al?

Information came from Niles Daily Star on Tommy James & Niles lead in community gardens.  I agree movie details on Niles High School will be limited.  Tommy James did mention in book that his Niles High teacher Mr. Kelly(not Ed Kelly, my track coach), worked for either Bush or Reagan as Policy Advisor for Middle East, and spoke with him after seeing him on CNN.  A bunch of interesting stuff about Niles like that in the book.

I'm guessing the movie will be shot in Tammarack, Manitoba and feature Kate Winslet in the title role . . .But enough about Tommy James!

NEWS FLASH!!!! I've booked our trip to MI!! We'll be in the area for a week, starting 9/26. Trying to coordinate with as many folks as possible, making stops in Niles, Grand Rapids, Battle Creek and Ann Arbor. Be there or be square!

Looking at a news article about a Union POW camp (Civil War...) that was recently discovered near Millen, GA and amongst other things, a token (circa 1863) from C.A. Colby and Co. Wholesale and Bakery in Niles, MI, was unearthed. The article indicated that it was to be used for food and had a value of 1 cent and I saw the article @ Yahoo-dot-com...cool beans! Randy, thanks for the info and we'll see what happens.

Jim Lanier

Jack, what with inflation and all, you could probably get a loaf of bread with that token now

(along with a wheelbarrow of cash!)
