Wendy Rehm (Comar)

Hi everyone- I just posted a presentation of our teachers on a new page called 'Our Teachers!'---pretty darn original titling if I say so myself! Let me know if you like it. If you have a catchier name for the page---I'm listening! Hope all is well. Wendy

Me again. The teachers are listed in alpha order by last name. Use the scroll down arrow on your screen to go to the next slide. Click back arrow when you see Mr. Zona to go back out to the main site. Wen

This has got to be the greatest blog on the internet!!! Seriously thought I would just read the posts and get out of here for the night...but NO!!! So, we are all addicts. We should send this blog to a producer...seriously funny new comedy! Sorry Tracy..looks like we are all too far gone to get back on track :-)

Tom – Glad you enjoyed my post. Funny thing about that illegal alien baby...many times since my little alien granddaughter's birth, I've told my daughter that if I could have had grandchildren without having children I would have done it in a heartbeat! It's so much more fun to spoil little aliens!!! Remember, I have almost 11 of them now!!! That little alien is the beautiful little 7 year old blonde I have posted under my profile. By the way Tom...all my years on stage and raising three teenagers on my own might have a little something to do with unleashing that inner side of me :-) That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!! By the way - I've always toyed with the idea of writing a book. What do you think?

Tracy – I still have all the hard copy music from 'Up With People'. I didn't think anyone would remember that!!!

Bev – I still have the record we made in High School. I've been taking all my LPs and putting them on DVDs. I will burn you one and bring it to the reunion. I can scan the picture in from the cover and send it to you. And we were good!!!

Yee Haa...I have wondered for years how to get a copy of that album...Tracy or Faith I would appreciate a copy. That is the best..Faith the picture is an awesome idea.

Wendy going to the "teachers post" next. What a great idea. You have done a great job with this site. Can't wait to see what else you will come up with..

Faith -- if it's an easy thing for you to burn the CD for Bev, I'll leave it to you then. But if anything goes wrong, I'm standing by to respond.
How great that you have that sheet music! Sometimes I still sing that Joan of Arc song in the shower...

Just visited the teachers post. I remember them being much older! The fact is, we are older now than most of them were then.(ouch!)

Strange jobs? I've has a few. Worked one summer in high school at Halbritter's Funeral Home on Main St. Fortunately most of my work was outside. In college I delivered pizzas. Encounted some interesting parties and strange people doing that one. Also worked as a cable converter box repo man in college. I got a list of names with addresses and phone numbers to contact. Surprisingly, no one ever got mad at me for taking back the cable box. Also worked as a parking lot attendant in college. The best part was the owner would let us drink beer on the job, whoopie!

Cheryl Frame (Malinowski)

Well, okay ... I had a little crush on Mr. Crouch but I had a bigger one on Jack Mell :)

Beverly Finney (Geist)

Ok... I had crushes too... Mike Isabel- art teacher, God he was hot...Did I miss a picture of Dennis Stamp - Biology? you are right, alot of them are younger than we are now. I'm sorry but this is really hard to comprehend..I still feel 20 inside, how about you?

01/23/09 09:39 PM #143

Sandy Barker

Bev - you will ALWAYS act like you're 20 - so don't fight it!!!

Jack Mell - that's down right freaky!!! What was HIS story???

Faith D. Mitchell (Biggs)

Tracy - It's no problem. I am always burning music...legally of course...all backups! I have a whole library of music. And just as many albums!

Getting back to the song theme, here are some of my favorite songs from 74: The Night Chicago Died by Paper Lace, Rock The Boat...can't remember who did this one, Time In a Bottle by Jim Croce, The Most Beautiful Girl by Charlie Rich, Let Me Be There by Olivia Newton-John, Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings, You Make Me Feel Brand New by the Stylistics, I'll Have To Say I Love You In A Song by Jim Croce, Seasons In The Sun by Terry Jacks, Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me by Elton John, I Shot The Sherrif by Eric Clapton, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road by Elton John, Taking Care of Business by Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Rikki Don't Lose That Number by Steely Dan, Sundown by Gordon Lightfoot, The Way We Were by Barbara Streisand, Bennie and the Jets by Elton John, Hooked on a Feeling – can't remember who wrote this one, Eldorado by Electric Light Orchestra (one of my favorite bands!), Wishing You Were Here by Chicago...

I still have ALL of my albums. I am in the process of recording them to CD. I had been preserving all of my albums...all in mint condition...until two years ago when we had a flood at the house. I had to rip open all the albums in order to dry them out...value of each went right out the window. Anyway, the albums themselves were still in perfect condition. I decided to record them all on CD, sell off the albums and enjoy the additional space in my family room.

Bev – I'll scan the picture in this weekend and e-mail it to you.

Mr. Stamp was there – Definitely big crush...he had to know! He must have left before we graduated. Mr Crouch is a close second!!!

And, Bev, I am with you about feeling 20...that is, until I stand up from sitting a while and my knees go snap, crackle and pop! I get over it quickly and am back to feeling 20, so I'm not over the hill yet :-) It helps to keep as busy as you were when you were in your 20s!

Suellen Etzcorn (Foster)

Jessie's not on the teacher post?! What the h---??? Can't remember his last name, but he had the 'perkiest pooper' I've ever seen on a man!! He was the original Mr. McDreamie! Oooh-la-la! He was the history teacher with curly brown hair, glasses and a smile to die for. Didn't learn a damn thing in his class because my mind was... well, never mind! As Rick Springfield sang, I'm a "Jessie's girl, la-la-la-la-la, Jessie's girl...."

So, how old do I feel? Well that changes by the hour and is heavily influenced by what's on my "to-do" list for the day. I'll get back with you on that one after I have one more cup of coffee and Baileys.

OK Ladies---I added Dennis Stamp to the teacher page just for you. He was in the junior yearbook....Wendy

If you want a good laugh, go to You Tube and type in Kiss Shreds. The group P.I.S.S. does a re-do of the KISS we all knew and loved - it's the shitz!

You girls are so bad! Harboring fantasies about your teachers! Bad girls! Bad Girls!! Shame!! Shame!!
So under the category of "equal opportunity" I'll take
Hot For Teacher for $100... Miss Kane! Oh, she stoked my timber! When she threw those erasers at me, I almost...
threw them back! I think I did, once. But SERIOUSLY, unless my memory has really nosedived (and it has), Mrs. Guggliotta was the only honorable mention in the female faculty I can think of. Good thing the HS girls were so darn cute!

Suellen Etzcorn (Foster)

Who was the Home Ec teacher that our Principle, Mr. Stevens, ran off with! They lived across the street from us on Phillip Road. She was kinda cute and WAY younger than the ole man... SCANDALOUS!!!

And who are you kidding, Lanier! You, and every other guy at Niles, had more high school fantasies than the entire cast of 90201. I can't imagine what went on behind closed stall doors in the boys room after a female teacher reached up to get the box off the "high" shelf while wearing her blue jean mini-skirt, fish-net stocking, and platform shoes... I don't care if it were Msr. Bender! And by the way... that's why I NEVER asked if I could have your bread during lunch hour. Who knew where those hands had been!

01/24/09 10:49 PM #152

Faith D. Mitchell (Biggs)

Now I am in heaven; welcome back Mr. Stamp!!!

And gross, Suellen, on where Lanier's hands might ever have been or...or are now...no offense Jim, but I didn't need that picture in my head before going to bed with my husband :-) So Jim, what about Mrs. Ganser...she was pretty cute! Not sure how many people would remember her because she taught a specialty class...medical profession.

For any of you who went to Westside Elementary..do you remember the names of the two 6th grade teachers? 6th grade was an awesome year! We were kings of the school. Of course those teachers made sure we didn't let that get to our heads too often...at least they loved to put the boys in their places!!! There were at least two or three boys who were always grabbing their ankles in front of the classroom to get their daily dose of paddling! Teachers would be arrested for doing that now days!!! Girls were immune, weren't they? Of course, we were little angels...right?

All this talk about Mr Stamp and I have to join the fan club. When he taught genetics I found myself imagining what we'd 'produce'...wonder what he looks like today. Hey, let's invite him and find out.

Who was the 9th grade Ballard science teacher ... I got paddled by him once - hurt like crazy.

Mrs Furst was a favorite and Pop Theus...guess I'm stuck in Jr High.

Faith - One of the Westside 6th grade teachers was Rev Tolly (sp?) - I'll never forget him because he slapped me once in front of the entire class - yes, I did deserve it - but it still didn't take the pain away. And more than once I had to grab my ankles in gym class - which was Mr. Arnold, I think student teaching. I'll bet Tim Newsted remembers the teachers names. Newt?

Tom's right ... Mr. Tolley ... and .... Miss Schwallen ... Do you remember Eddie Hartman letting the air out of her tires on the last day of school as 6th graders ... I have no idea how I remember that event ... typically good memory, just short ... so I really can hide my own Easter eggs. Tolley did like to use that paddle!

Thank you, Suellenor Roosevelt Etzcorn, for your theories on expression of adolescent male sexual fantasies in inappropriate settings. We would need to examine your field study protocol in order to validate your somewhat radical conclusions! We can say that you have shaken our Faith (Mitchel). In general, Sue, I'd say, let she who has not sinned cast the first stone! ;^)

Mr. Tolly(Tolley) and Miss Schwalen -- now that's going back a way! I remember that Miss Schwalen always scared the beejesus outta me, but Mr. T was so nice. Mostly I remember music class with him. I can still sing that little folk ditty that he taught us about a Russian maiden whose lover left her when she got fat. Kids wouldn't be singing something so un-PC these days... Also, I remember we learned an old spiritual: "Oh, I'm a-gonna sing, gonna sing, gonna sing all along the way; oh, I'm a-gonna sing, gonna sing, gonna sing all along the way." I remember the rest of it, but I won't bore you. I do recall that one boy in class was acting up once and Mr. T made him stand and sing that song solo. Was that you, Tom? If not, I'm thinking maybe Steve Bender???
OK, now going even further back -- I'd kind of forgotten that I actually started out as an Eastsider. Went to kindergarten and 1st grade at Oak Manor Elementary. My kindergarten teacher was Mrs. McDonald, who -- get this -- had a farm! And that farm was actually right next to Ballard, at the corner of Phillip(s?) Road. The kindergarten class took a field trip to the farm once. Anyone else remember that?
