Fight for Niles High School
The School we love so well.
Fight for her colors
The yellow and the blue.
Come on let's go and get 'em...

Fight for Niles High School
On to victory
Fight til the game is o'er
For Niles High [School?]....

That's what I remember....but will happily be corrected if others recall differently.

Regarding the Spartans...

If our (last year's champions in the NCAA) Jayhawks had to lose to another team THIS year (even though we returned no starters!), well, perhaps we lost in the Sweet 16 to the new champions? (I'm cheering the Spartans on over the Tar Heels, because Roy Williams left his Jayhawks, even though he said he would never leave...and that's that!)

A rabid Jayhawk fan...(who'dduh thunk?)

And in case anyone is trying to remember the NHS Loyalty Song, here's what I recall. Please post corrections!

We're loyal to you, NHS --
To the yellow and blue, NHS --
We'll back you to stand
Against the best in the land
For we know you have sand, NHS!
So smash that blockade, NHS --
Go crashing ahead, NHS --
Our team is our fame's protector --
On, boys, for we expect a
victory for you, NHS!

Cha hee, cha ha, cha hee hah hah, cha hee cha ha --
Cha hee, cha ha, cha hee hah hah, cha hee cha ha --
NHS, NHS, NHS!

Fling out that dear old flag of yellow and blue --
Lead on your sons and daughters fighting for you --
Like men of old on giants
Facing reliance,
Shouting defiance --
Oskee wah wah!
Amid the (something) streams(?) that nourish our land --
For honest labor and for learning we stand --
And unto thee we pledge our heart and hand --
Our alma mater, NHS!

Wow! How great to see the various lyrics. I'm thinking Tracy as it down yet the others seem true to form as well. Guess I have some investigating to do. Maybe there are two songs that we sung depending on the event?

WOWZA, I just found some awsome pictures of Stephanie and SRJ!
Be back in a couple of days

P.S. I thought I was the only one whom did not know details on the "Prank" I think a lot of us would like to know, thanks for asking Karen
I also do not remember saying I would Pole Dance, I could give you a visual but it would include, ankle braces, knee pads, elbow pads, a neck brace and a helmet, and even at that I would break my neck! I have some great videos of the past tho...............
I personally would rather sit back, look pretty and watch the action.

Yes, there were two songs -- the Fight Song and the Loyalty Song. I'll bet some band members could remember if there was a particular time during games when each was played. Actually, I'll bet Cheryl could get the official lyrics to both and let us know the protocol.

Verrrrrrrrrrry interesting. I didn't know of the loyalty song, Tracy!

I was chatting with my husband about school songs, and he was VERY surprised that there was NO mention of our mascot within it.

With that in mind--did we ever mention VIKINGS in any of our songs, riffs, or....whatever? Anyone know?

As for the MSU vs UCONN game, what a time, rooting/not rooting either team, for those of us here in Huskie land, shoot fire, Storrs is just a hop/skip/and a jump from my house, nearly a whole 25 miles...and I don't ever get much of a chance to go to any games, men or women.

Similarly pro football, I wasn't a Patriot fan until Brady started pitchin' that ol' pigskin and with the way that the Lions played/lost last year, at least I had a Michigan player to root for, that is until he got injured on the job.

So go green and white, go MSU!!!!

Has anyone heard from or seen Bob Farrell?

Sorry Karen, I haven't.

Hey, this loyalty song, was it the one where I had to draw the blade of my Bowie knife (back in the day, you were required to bring a Bowie knife to school) across my palm simultaneously with another guy, they we did the bloody handshake thing, swearing blood-brother-fidelity to NHS? I don't recall the other details...

Oh that is why they have banned weapons in school

The Spartans sure laid an egg in the title game last night. North Carolina beat them in every aspect of the game, they were clearly the better team. Wait till next year!

Hey Karen you can depend on me I will make sure I bring my dancing shoes...now I just need to remember what the hell the Chicago Walk is!! But I'm sure I will be able to hold my own!

I do remember you, me and Kathy walking down Michigan Ave in Chicago in the dead of winter freezing our butts off for some field trip - did that have anything to do with a Chicago Walk?? : ) No...I didn't think so. Maybe I'll look up some old American Bandstand and get meself re-educated!!

Hi all --sorry I've been out of the loop for a few days. Maura Laidlaw Warren left me an email the other day with another fundraising idea. She suggested flash (jump) drives with the Niles High logo on them. She has experience with selling them through the school and they were apparently a big seller. Can you chime in here and let us know if you would be interested in us pursuing this? Thanks.

Sue Ratkay (Jacobs)

I use flash drives all the time. I'd buy one... anything to support the cause! : )

Well, if it's a flash drive, it should have a picture of Bob "the moon" Haslett, shouldn't it? And if it's a jump drive, David Lee Roth?
Either way, put me down for one. No, I don't mean put me down, Ferguson. I mean, you could try, but then you'd fry!

okay--hate to display ignorance...but...why would I want one? to use how? [JL: behave!]

Where's Vance when you need IT info?

Wendy Rehm (Comar)

Let's see if I can help. A flash (or jump) drive is a portable USB device that most people use to make back ups of their hard drives. Others use it for extra data storage---like an add-on to their computers. I have one that I use to load up work files---then I can take just the flash drive home and load the files to my computer---work on them, reload them to the flash drive and bring it back to work again....so I don't have to carry my laptop home every night.

I need more details than this!!!!

"Nobody was arrested the police took some names.
I was on the roof when the police came up the ladder and every body was running all over the roof and the cop yelled " There must be teb thousand of these mother F---ers up here". The VW sat in the court yard all summer and was cut up and pulled out by the school."

Fill us in! Details Details Details.. How long was in in the planning stage, There must have been several moments worth retellin here... Details...!

Wendy is correct about flash drives. They can be very useful for transferring information. There are a few things to consider before you use them. If you use them between work and home, you may be violating your employers security policies. You may have heard about the conficker worm in the news recently. It uses USB devices to transfer itself to other machines. If you use them, turn off the autoplay feature and scan them with a current virus scanner before accessing the files. If you leave autoplay on when you plug in the USB device, that can be enough to infect your computer.

Employers tend to frown on people infecting their networks. Used carefully, flash drives are handy tools.

Wendy, thanks for the work on the website. The tattler addition is great!
